the first time i heard the impossibles was on the “hey brother can you spare some ska #3” comp from vegas records. i will never, ever get over the fact that my teenage best friend went to go see the impossibles without me as some sort of petty revenge over something she was mad about. >:|
one time i was wearing my impossibles hoodie (which i still wear!) at a show when i was working at the old bottom lounge in chicago, and jeremy tappero of attention got -very stoked- and talked to me about the impossibles and rory and the stereo and it was a really excellent moment.

for my birthday last year, my friend gary barbo made me a SKA PACKAGE containing his old tour laminates and a bunch of promotional stickers. BEST GIFT EVER.
i want to say this is the first show i ever went to … but i had actually been going to shows my whole life (hippie parents). i want to say this was my first show in seattle … but id been to bumbershoot and larger concerts dozens of times (hippie parents). i want to say this was the first ska show i went to … but i know i had seen engine54 at the backstage and the skatalites (hippie parents) previously.
basically, it was the first ska show i went to with intention, with the ability to know all the words, as a teenager who was really, really getting into ska.
also this was the only show i saw at rkcndy. pollen (most underrated band ever) and citizen king opened.
